TEMPLATE DEVELOPMENT

After doing the majority of my research I began thinking about my template and how I wanted it to reflect my concept. I wanted her to be a Harajuku type of girl almost doll like but not like a Barbie doll, still edgy which was inspired from the Sukeban girl gangs. That is why I chose the quirky double bun hair style and graphic winged liner to give her an alternative look. I also choose the Adidas Superstar trainers for shoes because I want my collection to be street wear and little bit sporty.

I made these templates by already using pre-drawn model poses for the bodies and then tracing over models faces I had found on Pinterest for the heads. As for the shoes I went on to the online office store where they show the shoes from all angles, so I could again trace over them and join them to the body. I traced the head and shoes on a much larger scale to make sure when I shrink them down they are still very detailed. So far I have only done two different fronts and a back but hope to create a side view later as well. I have tried already to make a side view but have struggled with finding a good models head that fits with my other two templates, so I attempted to just draw one from scratch but it didn’t look good enough as the proportions were uneven. Overall I am happy with the way my templates have turned out and cant wait to start designing on them but hopefully I will have time to expand on the poses and views so when I’m designing you can see the clothes from all angles.
